COP28

Experts from the Union of Concerned Scientists are participating in the annual United Nations climate change talks (also referred to as COP28) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 through December 12, 2023.
We are calling on wealthy countries and the largest emitters of global warming emissions, including the United States, to agree to a fast and fair phaseout of fossil fuels, ramp up climate finance for low- and middle-income countries, operationalize the Loss and Damage Fund established at COP27, secure an ambitious response to the first Global Stocktake, and protect negotiations from fossil fuel industry interference and disinformation.
